The WPF abstraction is anything but MS-centric. It’s just that MS are the only ones who have implemented it yet. Wait for Mono to implement WPF and then look forward to having your WPF applications running on Linux in Firefox. The Mono guys themselves have stated that WPF support would be *easier* to implement than Winforms, and that’s because it’s not an MS-centric abstraction.
