index, rindex - locate character in string

SYNOPSIS

 I char *index(const char * s , int  c );
 I char *rindex(const char * s , int  c );

DESCRIPTION

The R index () function returns a pointer to the first occurrence of the character c in the string s.
The R rindex () function returns a pointer to the last occurrence of the character c in the string s.
The terminating NULL character is considered to be a part of the strings.

RETURN VALUE

The R index () and R rindex () functions return a pointer to the matched character or NULL if the character is not found.
